We are looking for college student volunteers committed to providing instructional support for our pediatric school-aged children during hospitalization or repeated hospital visits.
We are looking for two cohorts of college students.
Session 1 (Spring) · November: Onboarding · January – July: Volunteer Term
Session 2 (Fall) · April: Onboarding · June – December: Volunteer Term
Requirements
A volunteer must commit to at least two-three-hour shifts a week.
A volunteer must commit to six months.
A volunteer must complete an application, potential interview, background check, health clearance, orientation, and training.
A volunteer must abide by all volunteer regulations and requirements.
Personal Skills, Abilities, Knowledge
Ability to work with children of all school age.
Ability to follow verbal and written instruction.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to demonstrate effective teaching practices.
Must be able to show respect and be sensitive to cultural differences.
